BIBLE VERSES

GENESIS 1:3

"Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light."

In biblical symbolism, this verse marks the first interior illumination within the evolving soul.

It is not physical light, nor the light of the sun (which appears later), but the awakening of consciousness itself, the first ray of the Higher Self penetrating the darkness of the unawakened lower carnal nature.

Symbolic Structure
- “God said”
The Divine Will issues its first formative impulse. This is the Higher Self initiating the work of inner creation.

- “Let there be light”
The command symbolizes the birth of spiritual perception, the dawning of buddhi‑manas or the faculty within consciousness that can discern truth from illusion.

- “And there was light”
The response of the lower nature to the Higher.
When the soul becomes receptive, illumination appears instantly, not as knowledge, but as awareness.

Inner Meaning in Mysticism

- This “light” is the first glimmer of the Divine within the personality.

- It is the awakening of discrimination, the ability to sense the Real behind appearances.

- It marks the beginning of the soul’s ascent from primordial darkness (unconsciousness) toward spiritual understanding.

Related KJV Verses

- Psalm 36:9 — “In thy light shall we see light.”

- John 1:9 — “That was the true Light, which lighteth every man…”

- 2 Corinthians 4:6 — “God… hath shined in our hearts…”

Each of these echoes the same inner event: the Higher Self (male) illuminating the receptive soul (female).

The Esoteric Message…..
The spiritual life begins the moment the inner darkness consents to illumination; every true beginning is an act of light.
