Biblical Symbolism, The Female Character
As we have discussed the entire bible is symbolic
mysticism. It was given to us by those who communed directly with
the Christ. If scripture is the inspired word of God then by their
very nature scriptures are creations of mysticism. It would be
mistaken to read scripture by any lens other than the lens of the
authors.
Probably one of the most egregious misinterpretations of scripture
is that of the female. In ancient times the female played a more
vital / center role in religious belief systems. It was not until we
de-evolved into warring tribes that the dominate male role emerged.
In mysticism the female represents either your emotions or your
spirit depending upon context. The woman at the well is in reference
to your spirit seeking the Christ. The woman (your spirit) goes to
the well to get water (seeks the truth) and bumps into Jesus (the
Christ). Even though she (you) may believe she is unworthy of Christ
he reaffirms her (you) that no one is without him regardless of
their beliefs.
In the higher aspect of our mind the female represents our spirit.
In the lower aspect of our mind the female represents our emotions.
The woman is to be subservient to the man simply means that your
emotions are to be subservient to our higher mind. The male
(Jerusalem) is symbolic for our mind. We are not to be led or
controlled by our emotions. Sadly women have tragically suffered in
our society because errant people insist on reading the bible
literally.
When the bible speaks of sin it is talking about living in the
emotions. Modern religionists have defined sin as anything bad. The
mystics who wrote the bible understood sin as dwelling in the
emotions. Getting mad and acting upon that anger was a sin.
In Adam and Eve the serpent (the kundalini within us) interacted
with our emotions. Eventually our emotions got us to act up our
desire. It was not until Adam (our mind) took action that things
went wrong. Actual living breathing women have NOTHING to do with
the Adam and Eve story. Samsun & Delilah is basically just a
retelling of the Adam and Eve story. Again in the Samsun story he
allowed his emotions to rule him and he lost his connection to God.
So whenever you see a female in the bible pay attention to see if it
is referring to your spirit or your emotions.
