NET, GOLDEN

A symbol of the web, or ideal scheme, of the universe on the buddhic plane.

"When the infant Buddha is born, four Brahmins, the wise men of India, receive him in a golden net. Then the Maharajahs, the four great kings of the Kosmos, bear him; for is he not Purusha, the Kosmos imaged as a heavenly man ?" - A. LILLIE, Budd. in Christendom, p. 20

The Soul is born on the buddhic plane during involution and enters the Divine scheme as its centre, uniting all forces and co-ordinating them. The four kings relate to the quaternary focussed on the mental plane. The four lower planes are centralized in the causal Self on the mental plane. The Soul is the Spirit (Purusha), which descends into Matter with all its qualities and thereby informs the Archetypal Man,-the One Soul (Buddha),-from which the many souls arise.
