MOON-WAXING PERIOD, OR THE PITRIYANA

A symbol of a period of evolution of animal-man, during which the astro-physical nature is developed sufficiently to be a fit vehicle for the incoming mind and spirits. This period has occurred in the lunar cycle for most egos.

"And Kitra said: All who depart from this world go to the moon. In the former (the waxing) half, the moon waxes big by their vital spirit." - Kaush. Upanishad, I. 2.

The Divine Lawgiver (Kitra) gave utterance: All embryo souls, or baby egos, in animal forms, when they quit the flesh bodies go to the astral realm (moon). In the first, the "waxing-half" period, meaning the half-cycle when the physical nature is developed, the astral nature (moon) waxes big, that is, the desire-nature is stimulated, and in proportion as the desires have been developed, the astral world (moon) is said to increase. During this period the embryo-egos, or proto-souls, proceed, on quitting the flesh body, from the physical realm to the astral, and no higher.
