BOAT SEKTET, AND BOAT ATET ; - THE EVENING AND MORNING BOATS OF RA

Symbols of the buddhic causal-body, or World-soul; first, in the cycle of involution (morning), and second, in that of evolution (evening). The first is said to mean "becoming weak," and the second "becoming strong," which signifies that the Spirit becomes weak in descent into matter, and strong in ascent there-from.

"Thy right eye is like the Sektet (evening) boat; thy left eye is like the Atet boat (or Matet, morning boat)." - BUDGE, Book of the Dead, p. 503.

The individuality is formed and perfected in the period of evolution; the personality in that of involution.

"May the soul of Ani come forth with thee into heaven, may he go forth in the Matet boat. May he come into port in the Sektet boat, and may he cleave his path among the never-resting stars in the heavens." - BUDGE, Egyptian Ideas, etc., p. 33.

May the perfected soul come forth and unite with the Self on the buddhic plane; may he first go forth as the personality in the period of involution. May he when perfected come into the haven of attainment and peace, as the individuality; and may he rise triumphant among the Divine monads, the spiritual egos who scintillate knowledge on the atmic plane.
