LUKE 2:19
"But Mary kept all these things, and
pondered them in her heart."
MARY symbolizes the inner feminine principle within our
consciousness, the receptive, intuitive, soul‑center that can
conceive the Divine Word.
She is the buddhic womb, the quiet interior where impressions from
the Higher Self are received, held, and manifested.
This verse describes the first interior movement of regeneration:
- “Kept all these things”
The soul preserves every influx from the Higher Self. Nothing is
lost. These “things” are the spiritual impressions, the subtle
movements of truth that descend into consciousness.
- “Pondered them in her heart”
The heart is the buddhic plane, the organ of direct spiritual
knowing.
To ponder is not to analyze, it is to brood, to warm, to gestate.
Truth becomes interiorized here, no longer external, no longer
conceptual.
Symbolic Structure
- Mary = the receptive soul, the feminine vessel of
intuition
- Keeping = preserving the spiritual influx
- Pondering = manifestation of impressions into
inner knowing
- Heart = the buddhic center, where truth is
understood by direct perception
Similar KJV Verses
- Genesis 37:11 — “But his father observed the
saying.”
(The higher principle holds the message until its meaning unfolds.)
- Daniel 7:28 — “But I kept the matter in my
heart.”
(Inner retention of a spiritual impression.)
- Proverbs 4:23 — “Keep thy heart with all
diligence…”
(The heart as the center of spiritual transformation.)
The Esoteric Message…..
The soul must learn to receive the higher impressions in silence
(meditation). Only the heart of our being, the buddhic center, can
manifest the divine seeds into living realization.
