ZACHARIAS, THE PRIESTA symbol of the subjective spiritual mind of a period of the soul's evolution. "But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: because thy supplication is heard, and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John. And thou shalt have joy and gladness; and many shall rejoice at his birth. For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord." — LUKE i. 13–15. Then the messenger of the Spirit within reassured the spiritual mind in response to its aspirations, and so it had an intuitive perception of the new truth which was to spring from the two parents. For the spiritual mind and the higher emotion-nature are now to give rise to the moral nature (John). And this will cause the spiritual nature to be re-inforced and raised, and many qualities shall be made better at its advent. For the moral nature shall be a great influence in the soul for goodness and truth. |
