Symbolic of evil mental conditions in a phase of
growth of the soul, which must be swept away.
"And the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth,
and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only
evil continually." - GENESIS. vi. 5.
And the Self beholds the necessity for its further descent into the
manifest. And it sees that there is increased necessity and
opportunity for its operations amid the discordant conditions which
have been set up by the mental activities upon the lower planes.
