THREE, NUMBER

A symbol of completeness of process or state. The perfect number of the higher planes.

“Three is symbolic of individual completion and individual action; of the threefold aspect of God to Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and of man himself as body, soul, and spirit." - J. GARNIER, Worship of the Dead, p. 220.

"The Chinese say numbers begin at one, are made perfect at three, and terminate at ten." - S. KIDD, China, p. 304.

“By three is signified all and full, a completion to the end." - Swedenborg, Apocalypse Revealed, n. 416, 505.

“Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to-day and to-morrow, and the third day I shall be consummated or perfected' (LUKE xiii. 32).
