MOON (HIGHER ASPECT)

A symbol of Buddhi as containing the transmuted results of the experience of the lower self.

“When the person goes away from this world he comes to the wind. Then the wind makes room for him, like the hole of a wheel, and through it he mounts higher. He comes to the sun. Then the sun makes room for him, like the hole of a lambara (drum ?), and through it he mounts higher. He comes to the moon. Then the moon makes room for him, like the hole of a drum, and through it he mounts higher, and arrives at the world when there is no sorrow, and no snow. There he dwells eternal years." - Brihad. Upanishad, V. (7) 10, 1.

When the spiritual monad, Individuality, quits the lower nature, it passes into the energised higher mental vehicle, or causal-body, and from thence unites with the Higher Self. Fortified by this union, it passes upward through the buddhic plane (moon) and becomes merged in Love eternal on the plane of atma.
