KARSHIPTA, THE BIRD

A symbol of the individuality or the higher ego in the causal-body.

“The law of Mazda is brought into the vara by the bird Karshipta.” — Vendidad, II. S. B. of E.

The law of Love divine — the higher nature or principle of being — is brought from within to the lower self who occupies the lower quaternary (vara), by the individuality (bird). There is a correspondency to this in the tables of the Law being placed in the ark of the covenant. The Moral Law comes down from above (or arises within), and occupies the inner sanctuary of the soul (ark).
