BIBLE VERSES

I A O, THE NAME

A symbol of the Higher Self in manifestation.

I, the Pleroma hath gone forth;
A, they shall return within;
O, there shall be an end of ends.

– “Books of the Saviour,” Pistis Sophia.

I stands for the going forth of the Divine Life into manifestation. It symbolizes individuation, identity, and the separation of the emanated ray from its parent source.

A signifies duality in manifestation—expressed in the sex principle, in force and matter, in active and passive. Its two sloping lines converging to a point and united by a cross-line introduce the idea of higher and lower, through whose interaction the union of the perfect with the perfected is attained.

O stands for the circle which follows and includes the other signs. It typifies the all-embracing principle—sexless, perfect, entire, lacking nothing. The Absolute: without beginning or end, first or last.
