GOVERNORS OF THE EARTHA symbol of ruling desires and passions of the lower nature (earth). “Before governors and kings shall ye stand for my sake, for a testimony unto them.” – Mark xiii. 9. This signifies the bringing of the disciplined qualities (disciples) before the tribunal of the rulers of the lower soul, such ruling forces as brute‑power, greed, passion, lust, anger, self‑interest, craft, and cunning, all of which are “of this world.” The qualities testify before these rulers for the sake of the Ideal. |
