FOUNTAINS OF THE DEEP
Symbolic of sources of error (“ the water below") which produce illusions in the lower self. These are astral and lower mental.
"The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained." - GENESIS. viii. 2.
The Divine power having energized the mental vehicle, the sources of error are diminished, as also are the spiritual perceptions (windows). The Self as downpouring truth (rain) withdraws from itself below.
"When he made firm the skies above : when the fountains of the deep became strong." - PROV. viii. 28.
When the buddhic principle was established and centralised : when the desires of the astral plane became active.
