Symbolic of aspirations towards the truth.
“The spotted deer are the recognized animals of the Maruts, and were originally, as it would seem, intended for the rain-clouds." - MAX MÜLLER, S. B. of E., Vol. XXXII. p. 70.
The spottedness signifies the impure appearance of the lower manifestation, which nevertheless is all pure within, and representative of the activities of the spiritual monads or divine Sparks (the Maruts). The aspirations. are responded to from above, and buddhi (rain-cloud) showers truth.
