DANCES OF HEAVENLY NYMPHS
Symbolic of the harmonious exercise of the higher emotions within the inner nature of the soul.
"And with the dances of the heavenly nymphs, that Palace shone like mount Kailasa." - Buddha-Karita, Bk. II. 30.
The “dances of the heavenly nymphs" are the higher activities in the soul. The "Palace" is the causal-vehicle, which is said to shine, inasmuch as it shows forth the splendours within it, which are perceived through the intuition.
"Now his elder son was in the field; and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard music and dancing." - LUKE XV. 25.
The intellect (elder son) is still engaged with the things of the lower life. But it is appealed to through harmony (music) and rhythm (dancing), that is, through knowledge derived by means of avenues of perception awakened upon higher planes. As it then draws nigh to a higher state of consciousness (the house), so it becomes aware of that which had previously escaped its notice.
