BEAST OF THE BOTTOMLESS PIT

A symbol of the desire-mind which is the adversary of the Spirit. It is energised by the desire-nature never satisfied, i.e. "bottomless."

"Here is wisdom. He that hath understanding, let him count the number of the beast; for it is the number of a man: and his number is Six hundred and sixty and six.” - REV. xiii. 18.

He that hath knowledge of the higher and lower planes in the structure of the soul, knows what constitutes man in his lower nature; and this lower nature is the animal-man, or the "beast” in man. Six is a number of completion, and 666 indicates completion of nature on the three lower planes, i.e. the lower mental, astral, and physical planes, which three completely organized states make up the desire-mind embodied, or beast." It must be remembered that the human consciousness is on the mental plane only.
