BAHMAN (VOHU-MANO)

A symbol of a messenger of the Supreme, signifying victory over the lower nature.

"When the kinvat bridge has been crossed, the archangel Bahman rises from a golden throne: 'Now hast thou come hither to us, O righteous one! from the perishable life to the imperishable life." - Minok-hired, HAUG, Essays.

When the "bridge" of mind between higher and lower has been passed, and a high mental state has been arrived at by the perfected soul, -the condition of the consciousness now being centred in the causal-body, -the "archangel," or type of glorious achievement manifests, and the wondrous power of the Self is declared, in that "this mortal shall have put on immortality; then shall come to pass the saying that is written, death is swallowed up in victory."
