ADULTERY
A symbol of the ego's forsaking of the higher
life for the lower, that is, the turning away from Wisdom's
teaching, to effect union with desire and the sense activities.
"Whosoever shall put away his wife and marry another, committeth
adultery." - MARK X. 11.
The soul which acts contrary to the spiritual law of the evolution
of its own being, that is, who forsakes the Divine ordinance at the
foundation of the cosmos,-commits adultery.
