ADAM, DUAL
A symbol of the union in the soul of the
mental and buddhic principles, -Buddhi-manas ,-the Divine Image.
"In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he
him; male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called
their name Adam in the day when they were created." - GENESIS. v. 1,
2.
This passage refers first to the progeny of the mind, which are
thought -states which proceeded successively when the mind came
forth in its perfection as the image of God. The mind was endowed
with " sparks " of the eternal " Fire ," namely the reason and
intuitive principles. The "blessing " signifies the Divine Will
operating through the human consciousness. The reference to the
reason and intuition being " Adamic implies that the intellect is
supreme over the intuition first of all.
