ABTU FISH, OR ANT FISHA symbol of the indwelling Self, or Savior, active on the higher planes (Abtu). “May I see the Abtu fish at his season.” — Hymn to Ra. The name of a mythological fish which, on coffins, etc., is seen swimming at the bows of the boat of the Sun‑god. — Budge, Book of the Dead, p. 6. The soul when perfected anticipates union with the Higher Self at the end of the cycle. The Higher Self, symbolized as a Great Fish in the Ocean of Truth, leads the soul (boat) onwards in its course through the cycle of life on the lower planes. |
